Welcome
Welcome to the online home of Marc McGinley, a game designer with experience in a wide range of projects, from online games such as Smokescreen to Alternate Reality Games like Operation Sleeper Cell.
Here you'll find personality, individuality and nonconformity (but not in the conformist way) - and you'll never hear the words "outside the box"... they're perhaps just a little too boxy.
What's New?
03/09/09 - The game I've been working on at Six to Start (for Channel 4) since the beginning of the year has launched! Click here to play Smokescreen. It's the first game to tackle the issues of privacy, security and identity online. I'm really happy with the feedback from people about the game. See BoingBoing and Jay is games
01/10/08 - Two sides battled to find James Bond first in the live finale of Young Bond: The Shadow War. This was an exciting live event with Charlie Higson giving instructions to the players. I designed a lot of the live event, including the puzzles and writing.
08/06/08 - I graduated! (with a first class degree). I'm actually overwhelmed at what I've been able to achieve. More than 300 people played the game I made for my dissertation, and I got a chance to exhibit it at two major graduate exhibitions in June 2008: Made In Brunel and New Designers.
